It is with great pleasure that I nominate Marlee Long as the April, 2020 teacher of the month at McGill Elementary School.

This is Marlee’s first year teaching at McGill. She has come in and made an immediate impact in our school. She works collaboratively on a very high professional level with her hallway peers by meeting regularly with them to analyze data and then adjusting her instruction accordingly. She has also been a positive addition to an already amazing culture that we have here at McGill. Her interactions with the community are positive and helpful.

Marlee is helping us meet the district’s vision of creating a world class learning environment. She does this through being dedicated to the recent district literacy initiative. She has been implementing the writer’s workshop model with fidelity and diligence. She maximizes her contact time with students by utilizing high leverage strategies and limiting distractions. Her interactions with students are respectful and she maintains a good learning environment through having established routines and procedures and by maintaining high expectations behaviorally and academically.

Once again it is my honor to nominate Marlee Long as the April 2020 teacher of the month at McGill. Through her professionalism she is helping the district meet their mission, "to promote, support, and ensure high levels of learning." The students, parents and staff are all blessed by having her here at McGill.
